This is a great tutorial, thanks. My question is this;
When you save something in png does it show up the same colors in your browser as it did in your editing software? I've basically stopped using png because its so frustrating. Usually the colors look darker and more saturated, while when saved as jpgs they look about the same as when I was editing them. It could well be because I'm using photoshop 5.0 and it would be better in a later version, but I was just wondering if you had any advice. Thanks

yeah for me it stays the same as my editing software. for ps save the "save for web" section and save it as .png for me jpg changed it a bit and stretched it out for some reason. So i pref to save as png cus it doesn't stretch it out or change my original icon.
