God, season 3.

Is this the same show from season 1? The one I was geeking out over because it had epic examples of cognitive dissonance and things people did MADE SENSE? The politics were interesting and I could see people's actions changing their beliefs. Oh, and Apollo wasn't a boring cardboard cutout white boy protagonist in the way I expected, ( Read more... )

I feel similarly. I couldn't pinpoint why the show fell apart for me, but it definitely did. I stopped watching for like sixteen months or more and only caught up during the last five episodes. It got better but it never recaptured the awesomeness that it had in S1. Sigh.

Yeah... after all the baby craze stuff, I had to stay away from it for a while before I could even face it. Possibly the only reason I got back on it so fast is its my treadmill/exercise show (most anime subs aren't hardcoded and ps3 doesn't read them, so ( ... )

:/ Yeah. It's a really tricky one because the first season is genuinely so good and intriguing and engaging and what little fail there is in S1 is easy to overlook because of all of the positive aspects. It's easy to fall in love with the show and want to keep watching and giving it more chances, even once it starts to fail. :/ I eventually got through it for similar reasons--because I had invested so much time into it already, and I did want to see if they'd manage to salvage any of it at all. I remember liking some of the last bits, but that most of the amazing magic parts for me were gone and dead. It was definitely much much much easier to just watch it after it had already aired so I could FF or ignore whatever bits annoyed me and just hurry and put on the next episode, as opposed to being so disappointed from week to week as yet another horrible episode aired. :/
