I've heard somewhere that Al Qaeda doesn't actually exist. It's just a catch-all name Americans and British use for Middle Eastern people we don't like. Of course, I can't prove this, but it's very interesting how individuals' ties to it are mentioned only in vague terms and often can't be proven and how nobody self-identifies as being a member of that group.
