coffe danger

when i pour myself a nice hot cup of coffee, i toss a few ice cubes in it to cool it down so i can drink it right away without burning myself. the ice cubes will sizzle and pop a bit, nothing weird. until 5 minutes ago when one EXPLODED and threw coffee and ice into my eye and on my keyboard. i don't think this counts against my perfect "Never ( Read more... )

LOL...sorry about the eye, but that is Hi-Larious...A very 'You' moment somehow ;-)

Cheer-up though...could be much worse. Watched my uncle grab a cup out of the dishwasher and through in some ice and Coke recently. All was going well until the cup he was holding (yes, the actual cup) exploded dumping a good 8 oz. of coke in his lap, and cutting his hand open. Apparently very hot dishes and cold liquids don't mix well either!

So when we likely to see your smiling mug 'round these parts again?

Exploding ice cubes are a rare occurrence, but if they're cold enough, it can happen. I had it happen pouring room-temp bouncy bubbly beverage over ice. The ice went 'splody and broke off a bit of the glass. No injuries there. Hope your eye is okay.

BTW: Here's mud in your eye!
