i don't think those decorations are going too far. your house just might not have been in a prime candy location.

maybe but I think there are not many prime locations since kids go to familiar homes mostly now.

and the decorations... I thought they were ok til I saw those kids that wouldn't even go to our door (the ones I called chickens... maybe the folks told them to leave)

I like the decorations, and your house!

I didn't even think about Halloween this year, I'm so busy with work and finishing school. Then it turns out we actually had a couple of real trick-or-treaters this year! I got home from work late, but my roommate told me about it and felt bad b/c we didn't have any candy. I remember in the past I was all excited about it and had candy, but NO ONE came!

thanks!

And that's too bad that you guys were caught off guard this year. It's always hard to tell!

I didn't think we'd get many kids, but since a few kids live on this street I thought they would at least come :/ Jim said he saw some older ladies looking at our house one day and pointing. We think they were looking at it with disapproval. I don't think the locals like the holiday much and we live near a lot of widows so I'm sure they don't want to participate. I just figured at least the nearby streets would be involved, but when I came home it looked all dark like they turned off their lights so they wouldn't be involved.
