I really should try to watch the first installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I've had the DVD for months. I've recently re-read books 5 through 7.

I just have such issues letting go of stories. I mean, seriously, I couldn't go to the theater. And it's not even the last movie! They saw me coming!

I would think letting go would have meant finishing all the books, not watching all the movies. I'm having issues with seeing part two, because I know if I see the epilogue, its horribleness will be burned into my brain forever. I have not read the epilogue either, even though I know what happens in it. Knowing and seeing are two very different things!

But you should watch part one. I loved it.

Normally you would be entirely correct, but the trick is that I could only finish DH the book because I knew there were more movies coming.

It is actually possible that the movie epilogue will be better because trying to film it will make evident that the book epilogue focused on the wrong things, even accepting the future laid out in it. (Still, I don't think it's going to be wonderful. Just less awful.)
