Anything Oprah touches becomes popular; who would want that?

I hate, hate reading books with the Oprah seal of approval on them, because I know some assinine whatever will comment on what Oprah says about the book.

When Oprah doesn't touch your life, it is much better.

When I worked at the bookstore, I always hated it when soccer mom-ish women would come in and say, "I need Oprah's book club book". Seriously. They didn't even know the name of the book they needed to buy, they just knew that Oprah recommended it (so it must be good!).

I felt decidedly dirty reading "A Million Little Pieces" because it had her seal of approval.
