It's also "pop" in the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up, though I found that most people in Illinois called it "soda." I guess Ohio and Illinois are linguistically farther apart than I thought!

I lived for many years at the border of the great soda vs. pop debate. Also I had a lot of Air Force kid friends until the base I grew up near closed.
