[open post] dreaming of another shore

Dec 06, 2009 18:21

It's midnight, and most of the Mall is winding down; normally functioning humans usually go to sleep at this time. Normally functioning mortals as well. The moon hangs large and round, pale yellow filtering through windows and rooms ( Read more... )

Mitsuru's room has become increasingly filled with a few items of necessity- a pile of books on pregnancy and early childcare, an unconstructed crib set off to the side, small plush toys scattered nearby.

She sleeps soundly now that fatigue hits earlier on in the day, one hand laid protectively over the bump of her stomach.

Rather fittingly, her dream starts abruptly with the shrill crying of a baby. Then another. And another.

She'll open her eyes to a nursery, afternoon sunlight streaming through the windows, and a blue-haired boy looking incredibly very much like your almost-brother-in-law cradling a red-haired baby in his arms.

A red-haired, four-winged baby.

There are more clones of them, scattered around the room; in bassinets, cribs, cradles, everywhere.

Just how many are you having, Auntie Mitsuru?

Being a dream world, Mitsuru only cringes at first. How did she even manage to carry so many babies...? What happened to sterility?

"...I have one question. Where is the breast pump?"

Feeding is going to take a looooooong time.

Phobetor, plz~ demoncompkid December 6 2009, 15:51:54 UTC
It doesn't really matter to Michi if it's day or night when he sleeps. At least tonight he seems to be falling asleep. Even if it's not the long naps he's used to, any time where he can shut off from the bulk of the responsibilities he still carries - or feels he does - here in the Mall, it's appreciated.

His dream tonight starts out with a literal bang - the roar of an atomic bomb ringing in his ears.

"Wake up."

That's the first thing he hears, and when he does open his eyes, he'll find a small boy of eight, brown hair, bright blue eyes, shaking him awake with a panicked look on his face.

"God, please wake up. We need you."

The child has wings - great white wings, two of them - but one is hanging at an awkward angle, ribbons of red soaking through the feathers and dripping down beside your face.

Michi starts awake, looking down at the child. He should be familiar, but he can't place it at the moment. He reaches out and touches the boy's wing, concerned.

"What's going on? Are we being attacked again?" He looks around, trying to figure out where he is - the best he can figure is that he's in another cave, because the walls are dark and look to be made of stone.

[Essentially, an insomniac like her does not sleep. So when she hears the laughter from within the mall, it only draws her towards it. Slowly, however. Because she can't help but stop by to get coffee at one of those open 24/7 shops. But that only lasts for a few minutes and she's back to walking towards the location of the laughter.

And here she is. Standing in the moonlight, with a somewhat soft expression on. Kids kids, you're making a lot of noise, don't cha know.]

"Mom!"

There's that chorus of delighted voices, echoing across the Mall, and Phantasos is the first to barrel into her, followed by Morpheus.

Phobetor is more reserved, more shy, but his eyes are bright as he stares after his brothers. This form is older, and he's decided to have his personality older as well. He doesn't really hate Miwako - but he's unfamiliar with her.

Morpheus...shrieks, however, looking horrified. "Mom...is that...coffee?"

[She's not caught off-guard this time, so she merely holds the coffee up with one hand, while the other hand brushes the twin's hair. And for Phobetor? A quick smile. She knows that he doesn't hate her, but that she must be odd to him. Understandable.]

Yes.

[Your mother is an insomniac, children.] It's only to keep me awake until I finish a few errands.

"Errands?" Morpheus parrots back, looking slightly mollified at her explanation but keeping a good few inches away from the coffee itself.

There's a hand taking hers, and Phobetor looks up at her. "May we help with the errands?"

It isn't so much a dream as a memory. Or perhaps something of the future, or her Persona getting her attention...or perhaps all three.

But Yue sits, watching the three sisters spin out the threads, and watches, and the golden fox at her feet dozes. Peace, or something like it.

Phantasos for this one... irtisanomaton December 6 2009, 22:06:33 UTC
His room is piled high with books now, books and computers and carefully stacked cartons of dango. Naoya doesn't have a place to sleep particularly, right now...he passes out in front of a computer, and dreams of green fields, when things were simpler.

Of a time when he didn't know anything.
