Birthday Treats

Dec 18, 2007 09:03

I was very fortunate last month to celebrate my birthday, not once but twice, firstly in Paris and then in New York, all in the space of a few days. Yes, I know I'm crazy. And yes, I was jetlagged. But it was all good fun ( Read more... )

Thanks for your comment, glad you liked the pics. I have many more but don't want to overdo it!! I was overjoyed that not only could I find the shelter again, I was invited in and made welcome all over again.

I'm so happy you met the shelter lady!! That's so wonderful. :)

I love this picspam post, Christie ♥ You look lovely and all the pics are beautiful. :) I especially like the one of you in Central Park. :) God, I could rave about New York all day too! I love it there.
So great you managed to meet some Brokies too! Did you have to wait long in line at The Empire State?

How strange and disappointing the dancers weren't all that good at the Moulin Rouge, you would never expect that.

Lovely, Christie, I'm so pleased you had such wonderful trips and thanks for sharing ♥

Hi June

Thanks for the lovely comment, my fave pic of me is the one in Central Park too! We didn't wait that long for the Empire State, we went early Sunday morning and it was a 20 minute wait. We went the previous day and it was a 90 minute wait!! So we decided to go the next day. Wise decision on our part.

I suppose I was being very harsh on the dancers at Moulin Rouge. They weren't terrible, but I expected it to be a lot better than it was. But I still had fun and am glad I had the experience.

Thanks for such a lovely comment.

Hey Christine! I love your pics! Makes me want to treat my boyfriend to a trip to Paris! :) That story about the shelter where the woman rescued you is amazing! (*mmm.... you know, when you've finished MON, you can always move on to another AU!AU centred around this idea but then with J&E?... what do you think?) You look so cute in the floral skirt and boots!

Love, Mel (not signed in...)

The birthday that crossed the ocean! mississaugared December 18 2007, 13:39:42 UTC
Christine, great report and I LOVE those pictures. Never enough. :)

You truly had the dream birthday, and it couldn't have happened to a nicer person. Your story about the lady from the shelter who came to your rescue all those years ago is very heartwarming. Thank you for reminding us of all the kindness in the world and how that kindness never gets forgotten, as you showed your rescuer by visiting 13 years later.

What goes around comes around, I guess, as I know for a fact what a kind and generous person you are in your own right.

Much love, xxxxx Missy ;)

Hi Missy, thanks for your lovely comment. Glad you enjoyed my post, you've seen these pics and probably more, so it was no doubt a bit of pic overload for you! So nice of you to comment though. Such nice words, as always, you are such a special person.

Yayayay!!! What a great vacation update. I love doing these updates from my trips, although I wonder if people are secretly thinking... Duh!! However, I NEVER think that when I see a post like this. I love seeing everyone's RL - houses and friends and vacations! I got the idea after Junie (BHJ) posted some apt. pix on her journal that I just loved seeing. When I think of that post, I remember her crescent rolls... lol!! It's interesting what sticks with us ( ... )

Hi Jane, thanks for such a lovely comment, glad you liked my pics. I wasnt going to post them here but someone suggested it and I thought it wasnt a bad idea after all. I didnt mean to be so harsh on the Moulin Rouge dancers, it was good fun and it was really exciting and I loved the can-can, I just expected it to be a lot more polished than it was. Maybe I was expecting too much. But it was a great experience. And yes, the champagne certainly helps the night move along!!!

I hope you get to post your Washington DC pics, would love to see those and I would love to hear your tales of meeting some Brokies next year.
