Posted this quote on FB, something I saw on tumblr that spoke to me. l3antha reflected on this quote in her entry today, and it made me want to do the same.

It is sad, and has been a life long process of understanding. I didn't truly get that my mom was depressed until my sister actually used those words; when it finally became a solid concept I could start to grasp, I was a teenager, already deeply effected without even knowing the half of it.

I don't want to say my parents were never there for me, but I do feel they were absent in many ways (mom's depression being a huge part of it). I'm sure that would be a horrible and very difficult reality for any parent to face, so I see why there is all this denial. They aren't bad people, I think they are just very sick.

Thanks again for all your comments. They really help me through. I so appreciate that you warned of this as I worked through trying to talk to them; it has made this whole realization easier, despite all the sadness. You are so right. I want to "be DONE", it will just never be that simple.

Your support, understanding, and internet hugs means the world to me <3

=D I'm very glad to help. Specially because things are a bit easier knowing that there's someone out there with a very similar problem to mine and who doesnt thik that my way to see things is crazy =) So thanks to you too!

Yeah. I believe SO much in having hope, it got me through the worst of my depression. But hope may not work for everyone, and even unconditional love can't solve all of life's problems.
