Friday
Before Nez picked us up to go, Juli, Caitlyn and I were watching the Ouran High School Host Club Season 2 bloopers. XD. Right before we left was one where Hikaru and Kaoru sing "We're gonna go find something more entertaining~", but in the blooper the VA sings it again and again, higher and higher. It became the theme song of our trip to AN's house (with variations! Such as, "We're gonna go find Nezzer a tranny~")
So this year we stayed at the Radisson, which is right beside the con and much closer than the Crowne Plaza, where we were last year. Nezzer kept his car at the con, or in the parking lot by our hotel (though when he did that he had to move it every few hours bahahaha). So we checked in, blah blah blah. We had an amazing room, though. It was a suit. One part had the
TV/desk/pull out couch (where Nez slept) and then the other had a big king sized bed~ (where Juli, Cait and I slept!). We could even close the doors on Nez so we wouldn't have to listen to him snore.
And we had a big bathroom. The sink and stuff was separate from the toilet and shower, so people could get ready at the same time.
So after unpacking (read: throwing our stuff on the ground. Which, incidentally, caused
Caitlyn's Sky Vodka to shatter) we headed over to the con to get our badges. Cait wore her loli dress and I, stupidly, wore Noki.
IT WAS SO FUCKING HOT. Caitlyn and I nearly
fainted from heat exhaustion. WHY DID I WEAR SUEADE AND A WIG!?!?!?!
Right after we got our badges (which hung around the neck this year -___- Not sure if I liked that, though it did work better at the dances. Less likely to drop them), Nez and I went in search of an LCBO/Beer Store for some supplies (before we left I RAN UP to our room and CHANGED THE FUCK out of Noki and into C2. Note: Pleather + Sweat = STICKY) while Cait and Juli got Juli's badge (she didn't preorder) and ate Subway while Nez and I
SLAVED AWAY FINDING A BOOZE STORE.
ANYWAY. When we all were together again, we
hit the con! It was fun times. I spent $120 on 11 manga practically right away. Which was a bit dumb of me, since I had to carry them around for the rest of the time. Juli bought some Mochi (the Taro kind OWNS. I looked it up, apparently it's made of some sort of bean, which is what Juli thought anyway) from the usual candy place.
So after much walking and sweating and
picture taking, we headed back to the Radisson to get ready for the JRAVE (on the way back, I was approached by a Llyod (who I didn't recognize at first) to take a
picture with a bunch of Zeroes. All which were really cuuuuute~).
JRave was awesome, as per usual. We drank a bit before, which was not per usual, BUT SO WORTH IT. I only had straight vodka so I got drunk pretty fast, XDDDDDD. It was awesome, though. We stayed for about two hours, dancing our hearts out. Nezzer wasn't quite drunk enough to be into it, though. However, he did get some moves in by the end~
Caitlyn went to a panel with Axie while the three of us went back to the room and watched bad movies on TV. This resulted in all four of us staying up till 3am (so, technically, this should be under the Saturday header, I suppose. BUT ALAS) and collapsing into bed.
Saturday
Up and at 'em at the crack of dawn (i.e. 9am!) to face the heat and ACHING FEET for the love of Anime North.
Nez was Alex from Clockwork Orange, while Caitlyn and I were both cosplaying from Pandora Hearts, Will of the Abyss and Alice, respectively (though technically the same people).
We looked pretty epic (if I do say so myself), though the trailing dress/bows did
prove to be a hazard.
After a quick breakfast at Tims (conveniently located on the way to the con), it was back to the Congress Centre for more spending of money on DVD's, manga, games, pictures and candy! We met up with Lauren (who's
Mightyena cosplay was WIN) and
Abbey (with Dan, lol. Hadn't seen him for AGES) there as well, which was awesome~ WE ALSO SAW A
NO FACE. And an awesome
METAPOD.
Caitlyn and I had wanted to go to the Pandora Hearts photo shoot that day, but they were assfaces AND CHANGED THE TIME on us, a fact we didn't realize UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE. Woe.
By the afternoon, though, after even more sweating in too-thick costumes (true Canadians, probably. It was about 30 degrees with humidity), Caitlyn and my feet hurt too much to continue. That, and we were hungry. P'ZONE TIME FOR SURE!!!!! And Dragon Ball Z Abridged Series while we waited, XD. We all had one p'zone each. Om nom nom. (We did go back to the con once before eating, minus the cosplay this time, though we didn't stay for long. I tried to take pictures, but Caitlyn
kept dodging them, like she had been
THE ENTIRE WEEKEND).
The Jpop dance was that night, so it was drinking time then back to the Congress Centre! This time, I wasn't the most drunk, thankfully. XD. We went over later, but it turned out that the whole dance was starting late, so we still had to go in line. BUT. With our line-neighbours behind us, we started a high five/hug line to pass the time (one dude hugged all of us, saying: "You're adorable, you're adorable, you're adorable- YOU'RE ALL DROP DEAD SEXY!!!"). It was epic. Juli and Caitlyn would get someone to hug and I'd notice last, so I'd run over and tackle them all. It was a blur of high fives and hugging and Nez shouting "PLANE" every time one passed over us (to which Juli said, "I keep thinking we have to get off the road every time he says that").
We even got married to one of the girls we hugged, with rubber rings (that glowed in the dance!) and everything ("Wait! What's our last name now?!").
BUT THE BEST was when Juli spotted a V (from Vandetta). We both started screaming, "V!! FREE HUG, V!!!!". He seemed to consider us for a moment, before pointing at Juli, Caitlyn and I and curling his finger in a come-hither motion. Insert: "KYAHHHH!" and three grown women running over and tackling him.
Dance was epic. They even played some K-pop songs, which made me totally freak out every time (Genie and Gee by SNSD and even Bonamana by Super Junior!!!). Nezzer was totally into it this time, dancing just as crazy as we were. So fabulous.
Another benefit of Nez being there was that less creepers creeped on us (He said it was the "alpha dog" presence), though we were still stalked a bit/stared at (Caitlyn was asked to dance and used Nez as an excuse... Though use is relative. All she did was go: o___o and start fiddling with Nez's cellphone until the guy went away). Except for one time, when Caitlyn and Juli were off somewhere and a dude started dancing with me. I didn't even know what was going on. He just was like, play fighting me or something, then he did this "technique" were he counted his shoulder over to mine to "sneakily" put his arm around me. He challenged Nez to see who could do it faster. Which was really odd. I think my face was: ???? the whole time, until Nez decided "I'm going in" and told the guy "Not to be a dick, but that's my girlfriend you're hitting on".
Lol. The guy BOOKED it outta there, big time.
So big time fun. We left around 1am. Caitlyn went off to take care of something and Nez, Juli and I went back to the room. Then to the convenience store (which was our best friend that weekend) for
Pringles and a drink for Nez (he was feeling sick, XD). Before we left, though, Juli couldn't find her shoes, so she was going to
wear Nez's Alex shoes, XDDDD. Turns out, her flip flops were under his bag. BAHA.
Ended up staying awake until about 4am (and Nez kept saying "SO rude. RUDE. So rude!!" to Juli, which soon became a catchphrase). Needless to say, I didn't dream that night. XDDDD
Sunday
We woke up Zombies. Is that even possible? Either way, that's what happened. 10am our eyes blearily cracked open and our limbs creaked and groaned as we hauled ourselves out of bed. Getting up so late meant Caitlyn and I missed getting Vic's autograph AGAIN.
It took us about an hour to wake up enough to pass for the living. Breakfast/lunch at Tims again. We sat in the usual place in front of the con under the trees where we ate (and Nez
deep-throated a hot dog). There were some awesome
Wind Waker cosplayers by us. SO IMPRESSED.
We split up while walking around the con- Juli and Caitlyn went off to find Lauren, I think. About an hour later, Nez and I were heading back to the hotel when a huge congo line passed us. Nez snorted and said, "Look at those losers" and, sure enough, there were Juli and Caitlyn, right in the middle of it, grinning and waving at us as they zoomed passed.
Such is the story of the weekend. LOL. We left soon after, all too tired (and broke) to stay any longer. That, and Nez had to get back to Hooters (LOLOLOLOL) for a job interview (something he was NOT happy about).
Back in Whitby, it was like we were in a daze. Caitlyn and I laid out all of our
merchandise and the three of us (girls, that is. Nez had gone home) were kind of just staring at it, smiling contently.
Me: "It's like we're in a post-con bliss"
Caitlyn: "An after-glow"
Me: "Yeah, like we've been having sex all weekend and only now are winding down."
Which was exactly what it felt like. It really was an awesome weekend, though. Wouldn't of had it any other way (maybe if that assface had let us into the Dealer's Room from the back doors, which were A LOT closer to our hotel. OR IF SHE HAD LET US LEAVE THAT WAY. I mean, why not?! We were leaving, for fuck's sake! But I digress...). I even got a Gold Card from the Radisson, so we can accumulate hotel!points every year. Hoh hoh hoh.
But yes, thank you guys for an awesome weekend~ Lovelovelove to you all. Though AN isn't officially over until I have gone through all my goods, anyway.
That evening, after a victory meal at the Kelsey's by the highway, Caitlyn and I started the counter once again.
363 days, as it was.
Can't wait.
