Poll: Is this statement considered "cocky"?

"I'm good at soccer. I'm not cocky, I just know I'm good. Did you want me to lie and say I'm awful?"

I think it is cocky... the humble way to say you are good at something would be to say something like "I'm ok" and then share a little respect for the teammates or something .. I dunno, that's my opinion.

Alright, this is getting ridiculous. It seems like the last two weeks, people have nothing better to do than rip me. So I'm going to defend myself this time before I get ripped from all angles yet again ( ... )

dude, take this in perspective, and let me break it down for you. Do you hear Sakic talk about how awesome he is? No. Take a cue from your 'Lanche idols. Secondly, consider that you're playin IM soccer, not exactly D1 NCAA. Don't even worry about being the best at anything, just enjoying what you do.

if your really that good you shouldnt have to say it, you shouldn't have to tell anybody, what you do on the feild should be enough.... yeah it's cocky

no, i don't think that statement is cocky.

i think in certain contexts it could be cocky.
but since the question is context free, then no.
