I am in the same boat as your mom: if you want to be up early and go sit in a tree for hours, make your own damn breakfast! But I agree with the population-control aspect. When he went out the other night he saw a Bambi but decided against shooting it, just for me, haha. (Plus he said it would have been a bad shot and he didn't feel like wandering around looking for it.)
Yes, we have talked about me going out and sitting with him and me possibly filming him shooting a deer. But the problem is, his bow hunting tree stand is only big enough for one person. And I don't think sitting on his lap is all that acceptable if he actually wants to shoot a deer. But he has suggested enclosing his gun hunting stand and putting a little heater in there for me for this winter. I told him I'd try it, since he does a lot of horse-related stuff for me.
