Since I seem to keep getting into conversations on the subject, instead of sending out a dozen emails and private messages out I'll just make a blanket post.

The subject of "I just wanna attend the parties to party/drink/promote something, so I don't want to buy a badge".
Or "I don't care about panels and events, so I don't want to buy a badge".

None of it changes my personal feelings, but I'm tired of preaching to deaf ears :(
I can tell people they are asses, I can tell them they are mooches, the one thing I need to be able tell them and can't is that they are breaking the rules.

I hope after this year there is talking and planning to change the rules. I wish everything was badged, if you aren't a member of the con you have no buisness in the hotel.

Thank you for the info! I hope you know I love and respect you, all of you, and if I still had a convention I'd be paying to get in to promote it. I think i have been to one panel in the two years I've been to con (and paid) and it was coz you were in it XD

This doesn't change any of my feelings, but I'm done arguing with people. Everyone knows my opinions already.

I hope at some point you'll change your feelings.
We have amazing events and panels, as well as awesome destination places.
My days are triple booked with interesting panels I want to go to, and Cinema Rex/Theater Nippon/Connies Space Lounge/Cof2e2/Harmonic Convergence and everything else is just as fun as the parties and I like you to give em all a chance to be fun too.

If I found one I was into I'd surely go. I guess I've only ever been to cons to sell (dealer) or spend time with friends. I'm finicky when it comes to panels.

Either way, I'm paying to get in, Ryan can't justify it since he just goes to see friends and we are having financial problems. He'll most likely drop in on Drayke Saturday after my dad's grad party, then go home. We are definitely pre-reg early for next year.

Also, people are calling you a bitch? That seems unnecessary. Youse wants I should break their heads?

You are not being a bitch.
Anyone who is calling you a bitch for standing up for your principles is lashing out because you are making them feel (appropriately) guilty for them wanting to be selfish and get away with something they shouldn't.
I swear, if anyone tries to sell me on a convention and is not wearing a badge to my convention, I am so very much ghosting there's and encouraging lots of people to show up and get as much out of it as they can for free. It's only fair!
Oh, another thing people coming without badges should know. Even if you only go to parties, people will be noting you and suspecting that you will be a troublemaker. Why? Because the issues that end up at ops disproportionately (by like, a lot. or try, most) come from people who are not registered for the con.

I'm just exasperated :(
I hope things change eventually, as I told Lex; I can call people mooches all I want but they aren't breaking the rules and that's what makes all the difference.
I think there should be some serious discussion with parties about what to do.
