so, jesse and i do feral cat trap-neuter-release in our neighborhood. every third sunday of the month, we set out traps and catch as many as possible to take to get their shots, speutered, vet checked, etc. if we catch any kittens, we try to tame them and rehome them

Speaking of kittens.... a certain parent neglected to get his kitten spayed and she went into Estrus. This was about a week or two ago, so she's actually in anestrus right now.

How soon can I get her proceedure done? I was told it can't be done when she's anywhere in her estrous cycle, but I was also told it was doable when she just wasn't in estrus.

ask your vet.

usually it will cost a bit more to spay while in heat, but most places will do it. also be incredibly careful when you open your doors. if she gets out at all make sure you take her in immediately for a spay/abort.

just call your vet and they will let you know when she can come in.

teflon went into heat twice before i finally took her in -- not only was it miserable for both of us, but she sprayed a whole bunch of floor pillows. :P

i learned my lesson.
