Do you...really think people should be able to understand why others choose to kill?

I for one, would like to....ah, I'm sorry if that was upsetting. Thinking aloud helps me clear my mind.

It wasn't really upsetting. I think they're good questions.

...I wonder, though...if understanding it wouldn't...make it harder, somehow.

But if we could understand how a murderer views the world and his or her victims, we might be able to stop murder from ever happening.

... Ph-phoenix, was it? Thank you for helping me with him.

I think... maybe they don't see things like us at all. No, no, that's not right. They're still human. There must be something. ... But if they think like you and me, I don't know....

Yes, though I didn't catch your name.

That could very well be true though. Warped sense of reality can always be a factor.

My name's Mist. It's nice to meet you ... though I wish it could be in happier times.

...! I am also searching for a similar answer! ...Sir, are you any closer now to it?

Oh-- Please forgive me for barging in without an introduction. *does a little curtsy* My name is Nia. ^_^

No, I'm not that much closer myself. I'm Phoenix Wright. *smiles*

It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

I see... I guess it really is a difficult question...

Same here.

Hard to contemplate.

There are thousands upon thousands of people. When others die, it is of no concern to them. Not until it touches themselves or their kin.

This is true of many people who would like to consider themselves 'good'. Murderers only take it one step further.

I don't think it's so much that nobody cares. It's just...the problem's too big. You can't take care of everybody, or fix everything. But when something happens to somebody close to you, you can fix that...or try to, anyways.

But then again, I've never really considered myself as "good"--I'm more in the middle. Like most people I know.

Isn't it much easier for the conscience to turn a blind eye, to assume that it's another's concern?

Like I said, I never claimed to be a hero.
