Is the first quote actually from "The letters of Abelard and Heloise"? I started that book...and gave up around page 27.

it's from "Eloisa to Abelard"
by Alexander Pope.

and i'm sorry to hear you gave up on that book.

well if you enjoy Peter Abelard's writing,
then it is.
but if not, you probably won't like it.
