Gah. It's going to take an infinite amount of time for me to actually get the whole entry posted, so I'll just take a scoop and post that. ^_^ I feel I need to provide some definite proof that yes, my LJ is still alive, and so am I. ^_ ( Read more... )

Netflix have the subtitled original language versions of all the Anime they have fully or joint commissioned, they haven't yet opted into providing english dubbed versions for most of their foreign content. Probably because they're funding them for their native markets first, then global second, and don't really want to spend extra money on dubs.

Oh! Wow, cool beans! I'd somehow understood they were only interested in English dubs, outside Japan. I mean, I'll still download the subs anyway, so I can keep them, but as and when I have Netflix access, that's useful to know. ^_^

Have you seen The Demon Girl Next Door, I wonder? It's delightfully wholesome. ^_^ Only 12 eps, though, and that could well be it; I'm currently in ep.8.

Ha! It could well be. ^_^; I might have to check, given it's gone down a storm with a few particular friends over on Masto.

Does it actually conclude with ep.12? I'm wondering if there might be more in the future..

Thank you for the drollery (though I always called it marginalia)!

Interesting that there's a word for a specific kind of marginalia! I'd never heard the word used that way. I'd wondered if that might be the root of the word, but apparently not - it's basically a direct import from France, around 1590.

I wonder what LJ would be like if others could annotate entries.. ^_^

That's a rather nice font. I wonder how long it'll take until someone packages it up for LaTeX use. :)

With the degree of devotion LaTeX devotees have, I wouldn't be surprised it already exists somewhere. =:) Maybe I'll float the idea over on Masto.. not exactly short of FOSS advocates there. ^_^ What would need to be done? (I've only ever seen the results - don't think I've ever used it myself)

I don't actually know! There's the LaTeX font catalogue though, that might be worth exploring; it has a Facebook page too, and I'm sure the maintainer could point you in the right direction for preparing the necessary stuff to make the font (easily) accessible in LaTeX. tex.stackexchange.com might also be helpful.

'course, I don't even know how necessary any of this still is with new(er) engines like xetex, luatex, luahbtex and so on. The days when you needed a supporting package to be able to use a font are probably over - though that said there's still a fair bit of font-package related updates on CTAN, and a fair number of people are still using pdftex as well.

How is it "encouraging news on the SF political front"? (I'm not asking in a biased way, just curious as I don't know the politics there.)
