let's get this shit rolling, eh?

Norrington made his way across town as quickly as he could, but things were a bit difficult. The citizens of Port Royal were rather in a tizzy over a breakout from the city gaol, which was rumored to included a pack of female pirates.

For once, Norrington hoped and prayed the rumors were true. If some of the Pearl's crew had already escaped, that ( Read more... )

Return of a commander, eh? admyrrek November 5 2007, 04:11:06 UTC
The sound of approaching bootheels on the rickety wooden floor alerted the little pirate to a new presence. Rahkus turned away from Dabria, the cook, the other female pirates with whom he was less familiar, and the two new men to see a rather tired and apprehensive Geoffrey. Though it had only been about 12 hours since he'd last seen the man, it seemed like an entire lifetime since the once-Navy-officer-turned-pirate bosun had convinced another Navy officer that Rahkus had not been hiding in the wardrobe. Though the man looked a good deal cleaner and better kept, he had, if it were possible, an even wearier look in his eyes. Emotional stress. Rahkus recognized that from his own experience. Momentarily ignoring the fact that the bosun had been less than polite to him and rather demeaning during their enforced time together in the captain's cabin, Rahkus felt some pity for the other man, curious what had precipitated the somewhat haunted look in the tall man's eyes ( ... )

This odd and unheralded appearance of the bosun, coupled with the cook's completely undignified and entirely inappropriate response to said appearance, was rather disorienting. Well, no. That wasn't true. Considering the day he'd been having so far, Rahkus would have not blinked an eye if the whole be-rogued pride of night ladies jumped up on the tavern bar and began dancing. It had been a rather eclectic day to say the least.

"Wull, 'pparently the lasses 'ere slipped oot from under th' noses a th' Navy types. I a'most froze then got m'self baptized when Ah went lookin' fer help. An' we might 'ave a doctor spyin' on th' insides a th' fort."

With that, Rahkus flashed the osun a rather manic grin, a expressive comment on the unusual events of the day.

"An' 'ow wuz yer day, then?"

Norrington ignored the inquiry into his day; he was not about to relive it for Rahkus or anyone else present, that was for damn sure. He paused to take stock of his surroundings and regain his bearings before replying.

"Well, that ought to make this a bit less impossible-"

He eyed the rest of the pub's clientèle and while none of them seemed overly interested in their table, he wasn't about to take chances. He lowered his voice and leaned in to the rest of the crew's remnants while keeping an eye over his shoulder toward the rest of the room.

"Perhaps we ought to move this little party to a more private location, I believe we have some urgent matters to discuss regarding our captive compatriots."

He cleared his throat and pushed his chair back a tad, waiting to see if the others would follow suit.
