The odd pair sat like that for several hours, as Caroline talked about anything she could think about- her job, her coworkers, what she liked to eat, what music she listened to- and the turret listened intently, occasionally repeating a phrase back to her or asking a simple question. Talking helped lift her spirits a little, and it helped immensely that there was someone willing to listen to her, even if it was a robot. She lost track of time after a while, but she didn’t particularly care, until she was forcibly snapped back to reality by the screech of the facility’s intercom turning on.
