“Stay close,” Wheatley warned her. Chell didn’t need to be reminded twice-the turret factory had already set her on edge. She was just waiting for the telltale sound of a turret locking on, or a chirpy little voice saying, I SEE YOU, and that would be the end of her. The fact that she could hear their voices echo across the factory didn’t ease her agitation.

She didn’t understand why GLaDOS decided that they had to have little kid voices. It was WAY too off-putting to be shot at by something that sounded like a three year old.

Babababa…

Chell jumped. It sounded like a turret.

Babababa! It was louder this time, and coming from behind a corner.

Chell stiffened up. Great. A new turret. Well, whatever GLaDOS had set up for her, she wouldn’t fall for it, even if it was a ‘disabled’ turret or it had a new voice box or whatever she had planned for her. She put her thumb on the portal gun trigger and prepared to fire at whatever was behind the corner
