ok next installment of my ficcy. I would have had it all up by now (all that ive written that is) but my mom is being really bizatchy about me being on the compy. I dont know when ill get the rest up due to the hurricane but......her u go!

It was going to rain.

He knew it before he even opened his eyes. He groggily climbed out of bed and went to his window. There were a couple fluffy white clouds in the sky but other than that it was perfect. Typical. All bad storms came on beautiful days.

He stumbled out of his room and down the flight of stairs. Half-way down he stepped on his untied shoelace and tumbled down the stairs. He rolled until he hit something. And he hit it hard. He looked up, sprawled across the floor. His olive eyes locked  with two violet ones that looked down on him agitaded. One eyebrow was arched in question. The girl in front of him slowly closed the black leather-bound book lying open in her hand and lowered her hands to her hips while shifting her weight to one leg.

“What…”she began, “nevermind, I don’t want to know.” She finished with only the slightest hint of irritation in her voice. She continued on her way to her room without a second glance. Beast Boy let his head fall to the floor with a dull thud.

“Ow.” He mumbled sullenly. After a few more moments he heaved himself off the floor and into the kitchen.

The day continued on relatively normally and by the first claps of thunder Raven’s mood was lighter and almost excited. At the first drops of rain she got up quickly, and mumbled something about going to her room. Beast Boy watched her go, and after a moment he heard the almost inaudible creak of the roof-top door being opened. He managed to slip away from the group when the power went out, under the pretense of finding a flash light. He changed into a leopard and bolted up the stairs. He changed back, and opened the final door slowly, and quietly peeked out. He saw her there, like many other times, as a dark heavenly being admist chaos.

Floating above the ground she let the storm take her over, and wholly gave herself to it. The rain blurred her features, making the whole event seem surreal. Every now and then a flash of lightning would light up the sky, and everything would be touched by an eerie energy.

Again as always he was amazed that there wasn’t even a trace of the dark energy that normally surrounded her. It seemed that now, the one time she gave up control, completely let go, she could control her powers the best. He watched awhile more, and then left, letting her have the privacy she craved. These were precious moments that not even her meditation could bring. In these moments she could let go of the struggle and just be, and he understood that.

Beast Boy went back into the main room as if he had been gone for only a few minutes and remarked:

“Hey look, the lights are back on!”

“Uh, Beast Boy…they’ve been on. For awhile now. We have a generator remember?” Robin said. Beast Boy rubbed the back of his head embarrassed.

“Oh yeah.” He mumbled. Robin quirked an eyebrow but said nothing. Beast Boy was grateful for this so that he could ignore it. Once the rain let up he made his exit.

“Yo, BB! Where ya going?” Cyborg asked. Beast Boy nodded his head in the general direction of his room.

“Shower.” He answered before heading up toward his room. He was passing the girls’ floor when he saw her. She was slowly floating to her door with her back to him. She was about to go in when:

“Rae?” Shit! What was he going to do now? What was he going to say to her?

“That’s not my name.” She snapped at him. She was facing him now, violet eyes narrowed. Her lavender hair was dark and plastered to her face. Her cloak was heavy and clung to her body, accentuating her curves. She looked very-no! Bad thoughts! He couldn’t be thinking about one of his friends let alone Raven like that.

“Why are you soaking wet?” he asked trying to stop his thoughts and cover up his staring. He raised an eyebrow questioningly for good measure. She ignored him and turned to leave. She had a very nice as---bad thoughts again! “You were out in the storm again weren’t you?” he blurted out afraid that maybe she would sense what he was thinking and blast him 100 years into the past. He was quite fond of the present.

She paused for a moment after he spoke, but then went into her room without looking back.

so what did ya think? i would really love to know.
