Whoa ho, me hearties. LiveJournal is out to drive me sane, methinks. I just spent the last, oh, call it 15 minutes or so trying to log into my account. Which they claim was never verified by email. My browser remembers my LJ username and password, so I don't have to enter it.
You have nieces and your cousins have kids; I'm sure you're a good judge of age. If the mother is embarrassed, she can decide how to parent her kids. You know as well as anybody that the choices a parent makes are not always optimal. As for who sees you wearing what, I'm certain that if society as a whole were influenced by your boundaries of propriety, society as a whole would be vastly better off than it is now. :)
