Dear Rebecca:
Thank you for your interest in the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Tanglewood Festival Chorus. Your audition is scheduled for 7:50:00 PM on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. As a reminder, please prepare one classical selection of your choosing (for example an art song or aria) that is a maximum of four (4) minutes in duration. The selection does not need to be memorized and you will not be asked to sight read. If the piece is in a language other than English, please bring two (2) copies of the translation.
Auditions will be accompanied by one of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus’s rehearsal pianists. Please remember to bring a copy of your music for the pianist. The pianist's copy must be in the key in which the piece will be performed. Please be sure photocopies are clear and are bound or placed in a three-ring binder. No loose pages, please.
Auditions will take place at Symphony Hall which is located at 301 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA 02115. Once at the hall, please check-in with the security guard at the stage door, located on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and St. Stephens Street. Posted signs will direct audition candidates to the Chorus Room.
Please arrive for the audition at least fifteen (15) minutes before your scheduled audition time. Candidates will need to review the TFC Audition Information Form and additional information about chorus membership will be provided at that time.
Finally, please confirm receipt of this message by return email or phone call. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
We’re looking forward to hearing you on Tuesday, March 16th. Good luck!
Best regards,
Mark
