My heartfelt sympathies, Miss McCormack. I truly regret that an individual with the sheer determination and unsurpassed dedication that you have in such generous quantities must be beset by adherents like the other, less committed members of your team. However, if I might suggest, the top of Gryffindor Tower is such an over-rated option for the disposal of a human life. I wonder if it would be possible to entice you into one of the courtyards for a chat, as I do not wish to see such potential wasted by a poorly-thought-out jump into eternity.

meaghan...

i can't make heads or tails out my homework either. and i thought maybe we can do ours together. perhaps, if you want company, i'm in a right mood for some. or rather, i know hufflepuff common room would be more comfortable than the bottom of gryffindor tower.

but maybe that's me...

and well, if that doesn't peak your interest. i've got some chocolate biscuits. they're the perfect picker-upper, i promise

Miss Trelawney, one would suppose that, given your sudden and belated realisation of the virtues of the library, you would have acquired the knowledge of the difference between the words "peak" and "pique."

Peak is a noun defined as "the point of greatest development, value, or intensity."

Pique is a verb that means "to provoke or arouse."

Quite obviously the correct word for the situation would be "pique," not "peak." I trust that this information will serve you well in the future. I also would suggest that you consult one of the many vocabulary-enriching tomes that reside in the hallowed halls of our library.

how is this? eye_c_awl November 13 2003, 16:44:17 UTC
apparently not.

i appreciate your drive to improve inter-house relations and my vocabulary.

but acts of kindness aside, you should return to your groveling, rabastan. it suits you more and piques my curiosity to no end.

there, have i used it correctly this time?
