I love the show Laura on telemundo. 3 Peruvian women hysterical over a guy, people calling each other basura, throwing shoes, getting into spontaneous brawls... ah. Reminds me of elementary school, spending afternoons in my grandma's house watching noticias and novelas everyday.
Spring break dans
Michigan!
I signed up for alternative spring break (at the last possible minute), for the animal rights project. A group of 7 of us went to Grand Rapids, Michigan (the middle of nowhere) for a week to volunteer at a rehab center for animals. We renovated a cage for a bobcat and cleaned cages, fed animals, for example... it was 8 hours of work everyday for a week, but it was fun, and the other volunteers were really awesome :)
Gerald R. Ford International Airport
The rehab center had 147 acres of forest. I was in heaven.
Us. I was the only guy of the group :P
We toiled :)
I fell in love with this owl.
Animals etc.
There were acres of maple trees, and they made maple syrup from scratch!
And finally, it snowed while we were there. Half an inch, but it was still pretty...
And lake michigan... too cold for words.
Great week. We also visited the local mall and movie theatre, ate out plenty, and bonded in the hotel room since there was not much else to do in western michigan. I'm excited to go somewhere else next year!
I just finished a round of tests, and I have a paper to finish. And telemundo is probably still at my school, covering the sit-in for the unicco strike, a strike by the janitors working on campus for a living wage and benefits. For more information, linkage
STAND.
So yeah, I'm good. I need to fly to LaGuardia soon.
