Did I ever tell you that I wrote a soldier everyday while he was in Afghanistan? He said that it meant a lot to him that someone cared enough about him to write him and that he looked forward to getting my emails and letters everyday.

No you didn't. I know some people in Afghanistan. One of my friends from church married a Marine right before he was deployed to Afghanistan, and I know how important it is to him to have somebody at home writing. You may never realize just how important those letters are to him, because somedays knowing that there is somebody back home that cares about you is all that you have to get you through the hardest times. Coincidentally, I'm watching a documentary on an Arkansas National Guard unit that just got deployed to the Middle East.

You're the kind of person that makes being over there worth it.
