I think you should go see your doctor to find out what it is. My mom had a big, mysterious lump form on her leg, almost overnight. Turns out it wasn't cancerous, but she had to have it removed.

Maybe he knows you're worried but he's being calm to try to make you less worried? I can't get into the minds of men so I don't know. I'm sure he cares, though, it's just one of those man things.
