I understand though. I feel the same way. It is very hard to take compliments. It's one thing to believe in ourselves, but trying to believe and really take in what someone else says is one of the hardest things to do.
I am very impressed with your theological work in this post.
At some point I plan on writing a book on a theology of the artist for popular consumption. Much of what I want to say there is that you have a theological mandate as someone who can create to bear the image of the Creator for the world to see. He created beautiful mountain ranges and the one whom is made in His image should make beautiful images of the mountain ranges that He has made.
Keep creating.
The compliment thing...I can't help you cause I can't take a compliment either. No help there.
I think mom's are always more pleased with what we do than anyone else or they make it sound like brain surgery. Recently my mom was going on about how I am such a great baker and I was like mom I just follow the directions on whatever it is that I'm baking.
