I know none of you care, but I'm officially done with pro sports (NFL/MLB/NBA). when i heard A-rod say that negotiating for his new contract starts at $350,000,000 i laughed and said see ya later pro sports. When somebody like Paul Byrd (decent pitcher), makes about the same as the best Nascar driver (Jimmie Johnson), somethings not right. The ( Read more... )

nascar, and auto racing in general, is quite possibly the most popular sport in the world. there really is no other sport in america where about 50,000 people attend one event. and i think european formula one racing driviers are the highest paid athletes in the world. so there are a few pluses (if you consider them that) for racing. everyone i work with watches it, so it rubs off on me, a little.

nascar does lead the nation in single event attendance every week... the small venues hold at least 50K and the large ones hold 250,000! euro formula one drivers don't get paid squat so they're actually jumping ship and joining nascar. one championship F1 joined nascar this year, and 4 or 5 more are signed up for next year. FUN.
