WTF!?

my luck with computers is absoultly amazing, i just had a hard drive go bad. and it was my primary one to! so after consulting with friends and fooling around i decided to just buy a new drive and reinstall windows, blah! i've lost so much data, and i have to install so many drivers. what the hell?
