So I'm on the board for this housing co-op that's just starting up. I got railroaded into being on the board, from general membership, twice now. I go to all the meetings, I type the minutes usually on time. I go in more often than ANY other board member, including the president, to sign paperwork ( Read more... )

Why are you still on the board if you're not going to be able to live in the co-op?

Beyond my chronic inability to just walk away, I'm really not sure! They are still stringing me along with "We'll talk to the city about their draconian and unreasonable requirements" and if it works out, it would be an amazing home. "Secretary of the Board" looks pretty on my resume. It's also the only time I get to be with a group of non-coworker humans.

But mostly, I think I'd just feel guilty leaving them without someone to do the work. I'm a sucker.

I had the exact same question. I can see you you'd get sucked into it. But damn, not being willing to move the meeting up 1/2 hour once? erk. Do you want to live cooperatively with that woman?
