Not really. But I am going to leave here, and I don't know where I'm going yet. I've been expecting to write this since this happened so I'm not suprised. Unfortunately I'm not any better prepared for it. One thing you could try is seeing whether any of the colleges rent out their rooms over the summer- here in Oxford some colleges advertise their off-site buildings as B&Bs in summer, and others often have rooms if you phone/e-mail them and ask (one of my friends is doing this at the moment; the rent is the same as the term-time rate, which is about 400pcm, but then again St. Hilda's are moneygrubbers and some of the richer colleges charge much less).

Good luck with it!

Thankyou!, am giving it a try presently. Certainly sounds cheaper and classier than the alternatives. No luck so far (most seem geared up to conference parties willing to pay £1100/month) but there are a lot of colleges still to try.

Is that a handful of monkeys?

Yeah, colleges in the long vac aren't a particularly good idea. This is quite a good website for finding accomodation - it's private landlords, so you don't have to deal with Russell ResidPestilential, who rather dominate the managed rentals market in Cambridge.

Thank you! These look much better than the others I've seen - we have the same problem in York with Sinclair trying to get a monopoly on all the student housing. I guess now I just have to go see as many as possible :-)
