Today was our holiday meeting at work, which was fine.  I didn't really learn anything, but free breakfast was nice.  Bonus:  I had to work anyway, so instead of shelving [yuck] for two hours I got to sit in the cafe and misbehave.  I think I offended fewer people this year than last year. :-)

that is so much more coherently explained than anything i've read about it. thanks. that makes so much more sense now that it's in real-people speak. damn. that does piss me off, though.

is there a list anywhere of all the CDs that have this XCP shit on them?

Yes. Sorry I didn't include the link in the original entry; I was too pissed to click any buttons...I just kept on typing. ;-)

For the PR/Press Release type stuff go to sonybmg.com. For a list of CDs out there with XCP protection on them, go to:

http://cp.sonybmg.com/xcp/english/titles.html

If your CDs have this stuff on there, you'll see a little grid in the lower-left hand corner that describes the requirements to play it in your computer, the fact that copies are limited, and, if you have XCP on the CD, it'll have a URL at the bottom. You can find more information on figuring out if your CD is "infected" on the SonyBMG site.
