I'll put this under a cut because it will be long and i'm just feeling moany etc.

.

A few weeks ago i thought I'd gone mad. It was the first day of term and really didn't want to go back because I hated it. Due to various reasons I ended up missing 3 buses so it was really late by the time I finally got into town. So I was walking from the bus ( Read more... )

Charl, I know you're a lot better than mediocre at drawing!
Also, it does sound like what you're doing is kind of irrelevant to your life (like Old English&me, lolz) but it's just a means to an end, you're over half way through now! If you're that bored, you could always make more clothes yourself&see if you could set up some sort of internet business selling them or something.

Out of interest, what pros do you have for madness?
Lots of artists are bonkers, is the only one I've got...that, and if you're actually mad enough to get committed you'll never have to cook or clean again.

Ughhhh, I feel you on the arguments thing. I hate that. *hug*

Please take care of your weight xx

I worry too much. It is a means to an end but it is frustrating and a suprising amount of people just want to do their degree in Dynevor (which is literally two minutes down the road), urgh.

I'm not really sure about the pros, just sort not having to worry about the banal everyday things. Also it reminded me of 'Jonathon Strange and Mr Norell' when he's taken that madness tincture and after it wears off can't quite remember if people have candles in their heads.

That must be frustrating. Happily, though, you have brighter prospects!

yes, I know the bit. the book I've just finished reminded me a lot of that as it was also faux Victorian and made comments about 19thC political history and used footnotes.

Aye, Uni courses are strange - you tend to learn things you will probably never real in the practical world, and which seem (and most likely are) completely unrelated to the course.

I think it's good you wrote the stuff down, kind of reminds me of what I do. But I don't think you're being stupid - the day started off badly, and that annoyance just crescendoed throughout the day until it got to the end and it had multiplied in size.

As for those girls; they probably don't think about it but just carry on like robots. It's great you know what you want from your course and maybe discuss it with a course tutor if you feel things are going in the wrong direction, but it might change as the course progresses.

Best of luck.

I hope so, it's only a one year course and next year i'll be doing what I want hopefully.

I'm just feeling a bit lonely at the moment because a lot of my good friends have gone away to uni this year and I'm not going out and socialising so much :( I am a loser! lol.

Aye, I think the setup of the textiles group (the work you do) is really unfair to those who want to study fashion, it's like it's just an extension of the surface pattern degree over in dynefor. I'd find it incredibly frustrating too, maybe you could talk to mel or sunny (LOL i know) about how you could incorporate more fashion into your projects like do some fashion drawings from the textiles/pattern work you do or summat... but I really do understand your frustration, if they had a strictly fashion class then I most certainly would've joined that rather than 3D, there's a big wide gap there ( ... )
