Hermione had a clever idea for how to make a few extra galleons to purchase Christmas gifts, or the things with which to make Christmas gifts. W.H. had seemed to think his apprentice was on to something and he'd express delight in her willingness to be creative. She had absolutely no idea if the idea would sell or not, but she figured it was worth a try and W.H.'s opinion of what might sell was usually spot on. So Hermione had put together a portfolio of Yule decoration charms and transfigurations that could be shopped about to the merchants in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. There were everything from tasteful, elegant white and silver themes to colourful, vibrant frolicking sledding scenes. She tried to incorporate a wide variety of themes and preferences and arranged them in such a way that she could show an overview, then focus in on the style the shop owner liked best. She'd even designed a few mini-charm sets for the vendors that like to set up their carts and stalls. Hermione had determined that she would retire a theme or charm for a premium if someone wanted to purchase exclusive rights. She also offered to provide the charms for the owners to cast or her services to set everything up for them and take them down after the first of the year for an additional service fee.
So far this afternoon and evening, she'd managed to sell four of the fifteen businesses she'd visited on something and another two had taken her card with the promise of getting back to her. She was pleased with the results so far as she headed toward Madam Malkin's.
