So I went to Bible study today at Central. I enjoyed the intellectual conversation and all, but I just felt really awkward being there. Almost as if I'm still not sure about the whole religion thing. I really don't want to get into TOO much detail about it because I don't feel like starting any debate or hatred toward me, but it was different.

My point is that you should not feel as though you must agree exactly with whatever a religion says, nor should you feel bad in any measure for not agreeing. Most of these youth groups are attended by the more conservative of kids, so bear that in mind.

Pro's: The church is probably the only way any of us would know ANYTHING about God, Jesus, and the Bible. And if hypethetically you aren't going to use the bible for anything else, it is a good piece of writing. I'm not going to make up statistics or anything, but most Americans who have God in their lives and regularly attend church tend to have better morals than those who don't. Which makes sense, considering this country was born based on religion. People have a need for some kind of higher power, even if it isn't Christianity.
Which brings us to con's:
People also have a need for attention(Excuse my generalizations). <-- Meaning half the people who do regularly attend church aren't going for the right reasons. I can see why those people who hate underage drinking would confuse you. But a sin is a sin is a sin is a sin. Underage drinking, fantasizing, adultry, cursing at God, killing someone...
