Virginia has two holidays in one weekend.  Friday was Lee-Jackson day and today is King day.  I guess that's ok if you are a state employee but what about the rest of us that have to fund your little mini vacation?  My tax money to fund some segregation initiative  What about all getting along and coming together to heal?  Can't you see a big ole ( Read more... )

Oh what fun.  I booked a flight online for my trip to NY.  I was to leave at 1000 from Norfolk.  Pete found a cheaper flight out of Newport News so he took that one.  I was going to have to wait for him in NY.  He left this morning at about 700 and I was going to finish getting ready and head out about 8.  At 730 the phone rings and it is a message ( Read more... )

I am leaving for New York Wednesday to testify in an arbitration case for work.  Last year when I was the acting Postmaster in Portsmouth I denied someone a transfer from New York.  Her attendance record showed that she had quite a few absences and pretty much didn't come to work.  She had a glowing recommendation from a supervisor, however ( Read more... )
