After two long semesters of working my ass off, I've finally been offered the paid position at the lab. When they told me, I felt like I was being crowned Miss America or something. I don't care how long you know someone, one weekend or one year, they will always be able to do something that will totally knock you off your chair with shock.

The shock is easy.
It's the aftershock that'll linger in your mind and toss around hasty decisions until you can't stand it.

I tried to fix it and it wasn't broken.

I worked a ten hour day today.
All day all I wanted to do was go back to bed.
I stared at the hungry customers as their heads turned into fluffy white pillows.
My knees became weak at the thought my matress.
My fingers graced the lightswitch wanting to turn it off.

And now while everyone else is sleeping, I'm WIDE AWAKE AND BORED.
