    Who?
Dennis Ritchie is the guy that co-wrote the Unix OS and the K&R C programming language.
    Huh?
iPhone? Andoid phone?
Those are cool. Hey, Steve Jobs invented the iPhone!

You bring up a good point.

Now that corporations have their brand name of some kind of Linux build I think the credit for who developed what is blurred now more than ever.

What did Steve Jobs create?
He is known to have blasted Bill Gates for not creating anything where the Mac OS was based off Xerox.

I plan to spend more time on LJ from today moving forward. Glad you're still posting around here!

I don't think having RedHat or Canno-however-it's-spelled, etc-branded Linuxes will obscure the fact that Linus created it, and that it was inspired by AT&T Unix. I'll start worrying about that when they stop calling it BSD Unix or Something Linux and give it its own brand-name like Orange Co. Tan (short for tangerine) Operating System Ten.

Bill Gates replied recently something along the lines of how he could understand Steve's frustration when his marketing approach wasn't as successful at times, but that Microsoft helped Steve eventually create the first Mac OS... I seem to remember something along those lines from watching The Pirates of Silicon Valley.
