This summer, Montreal came out with a public bike rental system, designed to cut down on pollution and complement mass transit. Residents can rent bikes for any length of time; the bikes can be found at numerous rental stations throughout the city, and feature sturdy construction and RFID/GPS chips to allow for tracking (and non-thievery).
