come on, afi- you can do it! i can't wait to read your finished product. i read an excerpt of your novel & it's good! but from what i've learnt in my writing course, you should immediately name the character. delayed identification can be confusing but it's up to you really. just sharing :)
oops, my bad. you did name the character. i was just confused with chris and grey. a lot of he does and he does this so yeah, that's why i thought you didn't name him.
Haha the excerpt was from the middle of the chapter, so that's why there wasn't too much explanation on them. I agree that sometimes I tend to try to beautify my writing too much in the novel it gets really confusing. I don't mind if it's some random prose or poetry, but in the novel it can be quite dangerous since it won't be able to catch the reader's attention to the story. I've been trying really hard from doing that and aiming for shorter sentences. But right now my novel is going really slow! D:
