Out of curiosity, are Brit-pickers not a thing anymore in HP fandom? (Or really, any fandom whose canon is set in the UK?) In regards to Brit/Am English, while I do notice the differences (my school was British so I mostly studied British English, but there were also American professors, plus the American influence that comes from having the US as a neighbour), I do not mind as long as they are minimum. That is, I don't mind reading little word differences like store, faucet, sweater, but I do draw the line when the fic is an ode to American slang instead of a fic with small mistakes.

I definitely don't mind some words as much - sweater is one because I almost never used the word 'jumper' whilst I was in the UK, but I used 'shop' all the time and was laughed at for using 'faucet' instead of 'tap', so stuff like that tends to be more noticeable to me. :P I wish I could care as little as you seem to!
