Hmm... well, I've had this shiny new beast of a 'puter for several weeks now, and let me tell you, it's really nice. Heck, it's got a subwoofer and surround-sound speakers, which are now drowning the townhouse in wonderful thumpy music. I decided to start copying over my tremendously huge and disorganized CD collection to it last weekend, got ( Read more... )

Oh come on, the dream sequence wasn't enough to save the guy's life? :P

What was Hidalgo again? I know you were telling me about it, but I don't think that was the one... I thought about the movie in question on my drive back home, but have since forgotten it...

Nope, unfortunately that's not the one... it was something similar to the Last Samurai, at least similar in my mind...

Come now, just 'cause he's pretty doesn't mean he must act poorly. Fight Club? 12 Monkeys? Seven?

Besides, an Tyler-Durdenish Achilles sounds great...maybe with a sprinkling of that crazy irish gypsy from Snatch...heheh.

No, that's not necessarily the case... I find that his acting is often hit-or miss, I mean, have you seen Meet Joe Black? He was horrendous in that one. I guess his acting is getting better on the whole, and yes, I do enjoy his performances in several of the movies you mentioned...

I guess I'm just a little worried that he could F this one up... I suppose I should be thankful that they didn't cast Antonio Banderas or Yanni as Achilles... ;)

I also hope that they don't demonize the Trojans. I'd like to see a nice, tragically Heroic portrayal of Hector. After all, Achilles was more of the barbarian in the whole damn thing anyway.

Oh, and in the preview they mentioned Achilles as being chosen by the King of Sparta (Menelaus) to get Helen back, when all us educated folk know full well that it was Agamemmnon who was in charge of the whole damn thing. Historical inaccuracies in Movies bother me. I should expect this from Hollywood, I know, but I just can't help it.
