Hey! I have a question for you, a cartographer!
If I needed to buy a digital map of a certain area, for commercial use, where can I buy that from? Ideally there'd be somewhere to get street maps for free but I realize life isn't perfect... any ideas would be most appreciated. xo

This is hard to answer. Do you want a city or rural? Editable of not?

city, and eventually I'll need a bunch of different locations. Not sure what you mean by editable-- maybe? I'm going to need to draw arrows and paths and whatnot on the map, but assumed I would do that in Illustrator or whatever.

Basically I'd be happy with like googlemaps, or something similar, if one can edit and redistribute it...

Well, I am sure that Rand McNally offers something, like a CD. I think there's a brand called StreetAtlas.

There's also this place, but I don't know how much it would cost. http://www.creativeforce.com/
