And then there had been Prussia's revelation, and he didn't even know what to make of it. Among everything else, Italy was left wondering if what he'd said was really true, and if that meant he'd managed to screw things up even more than he'd realized.
He wasn't really surprised when he woke up with a major fever and a painful cough.
When the doorbell rang, he went to answer it with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders, since the house felt cold wherever he went. When he opened the door, he blinked in surprise, his heart leaping a little at who stood on the other side. "Germany?"

"Hello, Italy," he said, softly. "May I come in?"

"Come on in," he said, voice rough from his cough.

"I talked to Maraich," he said, awkwardly, not knowing whether they were going to just stand there in the hallway, or move onto some other room of the house, "and now I'm here to talk to you. I-is that alright?" He felt very distanced from the other nation at that moment, despite the fact that he was standing right in front of him.
