I'm glad to hear he's perking up a bit. As for his weird clawing behaviour -- did they put him under for the surgery? Anaesthetic can cause behaviour changes in cats for a while afterwards -- not certain if you're aware of that. It could be just a lingering effect.

Yes, they put him under for the surgery. I figured it was just a result of the surgery in some way. I didn't know the side effect of anesthesia but it could have been that he was afraid by being handled by so many strangers, can't see who's coming with the e-collar, etc. But he's doing better today, so I'm not so worried now. :o)
