As much as you'll hear me complain about me not wanting to go to the beach every holiday because my little brother INSISTS, the beach is a nice place to live. The crashing of waves at night and being able to go and swim with fish and other unnamed creatures is fun. XD Don't forget sunblock! :>
Oh and have you tried researching about some pharmaceutical drugs for car/motion sickness? O:
I'm probably on enough drugs as it is. I think it's just a natural human response to the experience of being in a car, anyway. I only get it if I look at something for extended periods.
Did you say podfic? :OkindofawkwardJanuary 30 2012, 01:48:17 UTC
But good on you! (I think. That sounds like some serious travel.)
Unless you hate the beach or like, the ocean or something. Because that would suck. :( And in that case, I'm sorry.
Speaking of podfic, where are you going to get them? Is it another place besides the audio book archive for fanfic? (which is this ---> http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/, in case you didn't know)
Moving is such a pain in the ass :/ Having done it many, many times this year, I wish you good luck and no forgetting of things and cooperative weather.
I get terrible motion sickness as well. Dramamine or whatever works okay, but mostly just makes me sleepy. So I usually opt to stay up all night (doing packing and stuff that I procrastinated) and then sleep in the car.
OMG YOU'RE MOVING INTO A BEACH HOUSE. I am jealous! Sort of, anyway... I don't think I'd actually want to live on the beach for real, but I like the idea of it.
I love/find it hilarious that you're moving to a place called Emu Park. Hard to explain why, exactly... I just... love that there's a place called Emu Park! It's so... Australian! Maybe I only find it awesome and funny because I'm not Australian, I mean, I'm sure emus are nothing exciting to you. Although I think some of the hilarity is unavoidable, I mean, "emu" is just a funny-sounding word and a funny name for anything. It's like... "Weasel Park".
I've never seen an emu in the wild before. They don't just wander the streets... except maybe in Emu Park. This picture was in the 'scenic tour' images on the Emu Park website: http://www.emuparkonline.com.au/Scenic_Tour/pic09-emus.jpg
We actually pronounce emu different from you guys. You say it E-moo and we say it E-mee-you, which is somewhat less silly.
Haha, it sure does look like they wander the streets in Emu Park! That could be... interesting. Both fun and alarming and maybe a bit scary, like moose in Alaska.
Pffff, I've never said it Ee-moo, that's ridiculous. I've always said Ee-myou (Ee-mew?), which I still think is a funny word. (Are you actually saying it with three syllables there?)

I haven't really found a good source for original slash podfics yet, but a friend of mine said she'll record some for me so maybe that will work out?

Good luck, and enjoy that beach!

But really, I'm looking forward to it because it's going to be wonderful living so close to the beach.
