I wrote this tutorial for AltNation a while back, and I've decided to stick it up here too because it took bloody ages and I may as well do as much with it as possible. It's pretty image-heavy (and interest-light, unless you care about photo stuff, though some of the pictures are quite nice) so it lurks behind a cut
